As we come to the close of the major network upfronts, we see the renewals of some of our favorite series, but we also lament the departures of others. As is the norm this time of year, there are surprises and hopes that perhaps a cancelled show or two will be picked up by another network or streaming channel, but many will just be lost. Please note that we’re using the industry definition of “cancelled,” which means “not returning,” regardless of whether or not showrunners had a chance to finish the story (we also realize some series simply “ended”).
